Peasant

O Peasant é uma banda de um homem só: o norte-americano Damien DeRose responde pela alcunha que tenta definir sua arte. Peasant, em inglês, significa camponês rústico, caipira, uma pessoa simples. Mas nem a música nem o próprio Damien podem ser considerados simples, no sentido exato da palavra. De simples, a música de Damien tem suas melodias fáceis. Mas seus arranjos e letras têm pretensões bem além da simplicidade. (Lizandra Pronin)

Dupla inglesa de synthpop. Começaram a se tornar mais conhecidos a partir de 2009 quando foram eleitos pelo The Guardian como a banda do dia. Lançaram este ano o primeiro cd e já colocaram 3 singles entre as mais executadas na Europa.

Particularmente gostei bastante deles, e se antes eu dizia que o melhor cd recente era o The XX, agora já aceito que ele divida a posição com o Happiness. Vejo no trabalho deles uma pegada mais próxima das bandas alemãs, e das inglesas de post-punk. Uma mistura bacana pra quem curte a combinação pop + música eletrônica.
